Too young to retire

Introduction

If you’ve read my “Work History” page, you know that I’ve accumulated extensive experience over the years. However, I still feel too young to retire. Recently, I spoke with an old colleague who mentioned that today’s consultants and project managers in the investment industry often lack fundamental knowledge, such as the difference between a share and a bond. This is a recipe for disaster. Without a grasp of the basics, what can they hope to achieve?

Sadly, I’ve witnessed too many projects fail due to a simple lack of business knowledge. The good news is that I possess this essential knowledge and am eager to work again—provided an opportunity that excites me comes my way.

What am I looking for?

I am open to both full-time and part-time positions. If the job is remote, a part-time role would be ideal. For on-site positions, I prefer full-time employment. I understand that certain jobs may require occasional overtime, but I believe that with effective planning, this can be minimized. I am willing to put in extra hours when necessary, but I am not looking for a position where overtime is a constant requirement.

Remote vs on-site work

I don’t have a strong preference for remote work. While it is possible to perform many tasks from home, it often feels more efficient to walk over to a colleague and discuss a problem in person rather than over a call. For instance, I can test software remotely and save my questions or remarks for later, but this approach depends on the software’s development phase. Immediate feedback is crucial during active development or when addressing critical issues. Therefore, while I am open to remote work, my preference depends on the nature of the job and its specific requirements.

Willingness to relocate

I currently reside in Panama, but I am open to relocating for the right opportunity. If the job requires it, I am prepared to move to another country to take on new challenges and contribute effectively. My priority is finding a role that aligns with my skills and interests, regardless of location.
